Damin Starr is a Canadian singer/songwriter. Simply put, "a singer of songs". Classically trained with a performance style that combines vocal confidence with unique characterization. This charismatic performer builds on a history in musical theatre while following a personal passion for folk and country music which presents intimate opportunities as an independent artist. From 'Broadway & classic songs' to pop, Damin has applied his vocal versatility across music genres. A shift in personal priorities and recent world events have rekindled his life-long desire to record and perform a more transparent and raw sound. On July 22, 2022, Damin will release a classic cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind", as the first in a project of cover and original material forthcoming from the artist. The singer says, "Life's not always about a destination, but the journey that makes you who you are and takes you where you're going."
Damin Starr is a member of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, supports it's four key pillars to educate through it's charity MusiCounts, develop emerging artists through mentorship and development programs, Celebrate Canadian artists with year-round JUNO Awards showcasing, and honour music industry icons through the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
